Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day: February 7th, 2007
Oakland , CA , Jan. 26, 2007 -- Locally, the HIV/AIDS epidemic is still impacting the lives of Black Americans and people of color at disproportionate rates. Alameda County has made many constructive strides in broadening awareness and prevention strategies in addition to treatment methodologies; however, the work before the African American State of Emergency AIDS Task Force remains daunting. The Brother's Project is an HIV and Substance Abuse prevention peer education training program. The Brother's Project is designed to thoroughly educate participants about prevention. Additionally, participants are trained to educate their friends, family, and peers in their community. To learn more click here.
