Ashay by the Bay - www.ashaybythebay.com Ashay by the Bay was established in 1997. One of its business units, Mindful Messages Mentoring Program (MMMP) was created in 2002. The MMMP offers an innovative Health Education, Culture and Life Skills program for youth ages 11- 18. It utilizes spoken word (poetry) curriculum and the concept of "mindfulness" to change at risk behavior. Some of the topics covered in the curriculum have an Africentric focus, others have a more universal appeal and include, Abstinence, Safe Sex, HIV/AIDS, STD's, Drugs, Relationships, Peer Pressure, Education, Family and Violence Prevention. Ashay by the Bay also sells a unique selection of Africentric Children's Books (Pre-School and K-12) and other educational products to organizations, schools, educators, parents and of course kids. |

| HEPPAC - www.casasegura.org Our mission is to prevent the further spread of HIV, Hepatitis C, and other sexually transmitted diseases in Alameda County. We aim to reach our goal through outreach, needle exchange, HIV education and prevention, one-on-one encounters, unstructured groups and prevention case management (PAM), harm reduction workshops and other educational activities addresssing the needs of the intravenous drug user and other at risk groups for HIV infection. |
